    Re: Horde Brags

I'm nearly done with getting my key for Scholomance...just have to take down Araj the Summoner in Andorhal.  It is an orange group quest for me, now...maybe in a few levels I'll try to take him down myself if I can't get a group together.

At just about 58, time to do some more BGs for level 60 pvp gear.  I just wish you could DE older items, or at least sell them back for some honor recoup.  I have them sitting in the bank, taking up space, but am having a hard time with the idea of deleting them from my inventory.

    Re: Horde Brags

Morteal is now a 60 and we've been doing a lot of Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley together.  I have most of the 58+ Defiler's gear, except the 58 talisman.  I got the "purple" paladin shoulders instead which more than doubled my shoulder armor, strength, stamina and intellect.  From Alterac Valley I got the Frostwolf cloak, the Ice-Barb spear and ta-da: The Frostwolf Epic mount.  Now I just have to grind gold to get the training! lol  I figure a few hours in Outland should bring my gold stores back up - with all of the 60 training, I'm down to 20s! Stick out tongue [:P]

    Re: Horde Brags

Cool, you'll have the money in no time in Outland. Smile [:)] The only more expensive time than hitting 60 is hitting 70... I have that coming up again. Crying [:'(] Looks like you're enjoying AV; it can be a lot of fun, although I really miss the old epic ones which lasted 4 hours.

Phlox is now level 68 and has completed her first part of the Kara fragment already, although I am wondering how much I'll take her there. Gear is more of an issue for her than it is/was for Mora. Now and then I take leather items instead of mail because feral dr00d gear is closer to the stats I want, so I might have to farm a bit. Sad [:(]

    Re: Horde Brags

I got my Scholomance key yesterday by grouping up with a team that took down Araj, so if any Hordies want to join in a raid, I have the key to get there.

I teamed up with another group and got through half of Strat yesterday, before I had to log off.  That was a lot of fun doing it with a full group, and there were lots of good drops.  I got three corruptor's stones which brought up my rep with the Argent Dawn very nicely.

I'm going to keep grinding for gold to get my epic mount training.  I'm not going to bother with getting the epic charger this time around.  That quest chain was so long and frustrating at times, and I only saved about 200g by the time it was all said and done.  My reps are getting there, so I might get a decent discount on the training - then I'll be riding around on my Frostwolf! Big Smile [:D]

    Re: Horde Brags

I can see why you would not want to go through that quest chain for the mount again; it's not cheap! And the wolf is cuter, it has a great snarl.

Phlox is 70 now! Party!!! [<:o)] I got her her standard flying skill and only need about 1000g extra for epic flying...but I'm not sure I want to get it straight away, I need to get some decent gear and keep some money to invest in leatherworking. Because I pretty much rushed her through the last 4 levels, she has less instance rep than I would like. I am going to start her on heroics asap, she really needs some decent gear and primal nethers. A shammys work is never done. Smile [:)]

    Re: Horde Brags

We had a go at SSC tonight. We wiped a fair bit on the Fish Boss, but I sense we can take him down after a few more tries. The funny thing is that you need 375 fishing (or there-abouts) to fish him up. And as Mora was the only one with that level in the raid (not sure if I should be proud or embarassed,) I fished away with 24 pairs of eyes on me; very unusual. Big Smile [:D]

    Re: Horde Brags

I think that the other 24 should be ashamed.  I love those buffs that come from cooked fish. I always have a good supply of Poached Bluefish, Golden Fishsticks, and Spicy Crawdad when I raid.

    Re: Horde Brags

Part of my reason for getting to Outland was to fish the fish that give those buffs.  I was buying off the AH until I could get there myself - as a 55 to 57, it gives an advantage that is tough to beat! Big Smile [:D]

Is there another fishing pole (quest or drop) that is better than the Nat Pagle one?

The only better one I know of is the one you get from the Sunday contest. It's hard to get though.

    Re: Horde Brags

[Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole] is obtained as a reward from the Rather be Fishin' quest in the lower city.

    +20 to Fishing
+52 to STA  (Just in case you have to fight while fishing).

It's not as good as the [Arcanite Fishing Pole] +35 Fishing, but it's still pretty darned good and MUCH easier to get.

I wonder what kind of goodies and buffs we'll be able to get when fishing and cooking are at 450?

As a shadow priest I love to use [Poached Bluefish]. +23 Spell Damage.

    Re: Horde Brags

Nah - Nat Pagles Rod is still +25 fishing and that's the best quest reward I've seen so far. The stamina doesnt really give any benefit.

In the meanwhile... I could not resist getting epic flight for Phlox too, things just seemed too slow without. Mike lent me the last 1000g I needed and then I took to the skies! Yippee!

    Re: Horde Brags

The stamina helps if you're fishing in Skettis and one of those big tree guys steps on you.  It means they can two shot you instead of one shotting you.  I'm surprised that there's no Alliance equivalent for Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler.

So it stacks up like this:

Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole (+20 Fishing, Quest reward)

Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000 (+25 Fishing, Horde Only, Quest reward)

Arcanite Fishing Pole (+35 Fishing, Contest Prize)

    Re: Horde Brags

Ack, Alliance are spoilt ( all those central cities, Darnassus tucked away, the deeprun tram...) and numerous, Horde needs the few extra benefits it can get. Big Smile [:D] The easiest way to boost your fishing skill though is to ask a friendly engineer to make you some aquadynamic fish attractors or to fish up one of the other prizes in the contest; the boots, hat or line.

Those tree guys were never an issue for me, I just used 'slow' on them and blinked!

    Re: Horde Brags

My guild really is a nightowl guild. I got dragged into Kara last night when I got home at 10.30pm. We then ran through Aran (down first try) Chess (easy) Netherspite (1st go - that's a tricky one too) and after 2 wipes on Prince he went down too. I got the Nathrezim Mindblade on a roll and added +40 spell damage today for my final elusive enchanting point. It's not hugely better than my pvp spellblade but it adds 1% crit chance which is nice.

We tried Nightbane, but needed more aoe, there was just me and I got too much aggro. So we gave up and finished at 3am. Coffee, anyone? Sleep [|-)]

    DING 44!

I dumped professions and went tailoring and enchanting.  I picked up the [Pattern: Admiral's Hat] while killing pirates today even though I can't use it yet.  Is there anything that I should be paying attention to coming up? Does tailoring specialize at 225?

Phew! A productive day. Phlox is now keyed for Kara, got rep for Shatar and KoT to get leatherworking receipes to get it to 375. Got to 375 and made her first epic (bracers), did 10 (awful ) arenas to get point for this week. Completed the group quest for the Netherwing and started the daily rep grind. Sleep [|-)]
