The Cauldron

Do you know that I forgot a very important hobby of mine? I collect dragons! I have a somewhat modest collection so far, but the ones I have are unusual or unique. I have two in my collection that are one of a kind; the little dragon that is in my avatar (look closely, he's there. I named him Llauron. ) that is actually an incense burner (the smoke is released from his nostrils and mouth) and a dragon painting made by one of our resident artists, Sil. She included it in the Christmas card exchange a few years ago, and it has been up ever since in my house. I also have a more extensive collection of dolphins and a not-too-shabby collection of books.

Hey, what did you expect? I'm a dragon...of course I horde things.

I also forgot one of my main hobbies, V'. I also collect books! Although my collection not be as big as some, (somewhere around 120) I feel smarter whenever I gaze at it.

Yes, I let out my collections too. I will collect anything of interest; but books (somewhere around 1500 again after I gave away around 2000 and kept just under 500 in 2005), dragon-related things, and just about anything that attracts me. One of my weaknesses is teacups. And I don't get just one; no, 2, 4 or preferably 6 of the same. And Modesty Blaise related things.

And yet another hobby I completely forgot (which is slightly related to collecting) is Geomag.

My hobby is attempting to have a hobby._With my toddler and infant,_I really have no time to even have a normal thought process._When I feed my little baby,_I read books to him._He loves hearing the Symphony of Ages._ To my older one I read the first Rhapsody and Prophecy to her when I fed her._I guess going on the internet is one hobby I have._I like to "attempt" drawing,_painting,_tattooing,_poetry,_hiking,_swearing a lot and reading._I collect things like dragon things_,skulls_,crystal balls_,crystals,_fay stuff,_Celtic stuff,_antique stuff, knives/swords and pretty much anything else bizarre._Knives are put away because of kids though, lol._I also like to go fishing._We have only a few lakes with limited species of fish where I live,_so I mainly go for largemouth and smallmouth bass,_rainbow trout,_catfish, and even redear sunfish._I paint my husbands pewter D&D figurines,_but I don't play_D&D._I used to really be into astrology,_numerology and gazing,_but I was afraid I would end up messing up my future by foretelling my future and be in trouble and end up having no future._I don't mess with that stuff really anymore.

Then I have a dog._I feed it._That's one of my best hobbies.

Even busy moms can use the space bar and shift key.

I know somebody who collects knives.

Anyway, I' am currently working on a little something I call, "fun." And yes, I know that we aren't suppose to post fan fiction on The Cauldron. Its just a little thing I started concerning are assassin friend and goes into a description (based upon what we know thus far of The Brother) of his past, how he was born, grew up among the Bolg, ect...

*coughs*

If anybody wishes to read it, I can send you a PM with the link. Or if the mods give the okay, I can post the link in this forum. But just to give a heads-up, I claim none of the characters as my own, and give a disclaimer right at the start. I hate to get in trouble...

Just keep in mind that if or when you do read it, I'm only doing it for fun. I just hope that "Her Majesty," cooks up The Brother's story herself someday!

Oh, please keep it to yourself Mri (or via pm as you suggested) as Elizabeth doesn't like fan fiction one bit and it's a copyright violation. There's a mention of it in the FAQ's.

No worries, Mri Niun. Now you know. Lots of authors feel that way. It's almost like someone taking my children and raising them as their own without my consent. Almost, mind you. ;)

I'll tell you what I tell my own daughter, though MN: You are talented, so use that to show off your imagination. I, for one, can't wait to see some of your original stuff posted here. I'm constantly trying to get Sashia to finish her stories. She's pretty darn good (and that's not just a "mom" talking.)

If you like, you can send them to me first so I can double check your grammar and what not before posting your masterpiece.

I do have a lot of original writings that I could post on The Cauldron, I just haven't done so yet.

And I can understand what your saying, I probably be a bit skeptical too if somebody wrote about my characters.

Anyway! Where were we? Ah yes! Hobbies.

Today I did some artwork based on my favorite childhood game (actually, its still my favorite game) Spyro the Dragon. I also did some more fan art from The Faded Sun trilogy, and I badly need a scanner so I can get all of them posted up on Deviant Art. I' ve been doing so much artwork lately that my hands are cramped! I also (I might had already mentioned this in another thread) did some artwork based on the SOA series, "cover arts," I call them based on certain scenes from the series. I will try to post these up on The Cauldron whenever I can get my hands on a scanner!

Scanners are my ex-hobby ; I sort of stopped scanning a couple months ago when essays demanded more of my time...

I sort of like writing, but can never get through a whole story. It's always 3 or 4 chapters; my longest one stopped at 7.

I have a good idea for a story and it's been in the *works* for a while (meaning that it is mostly in my head). But I don't have a definite plot idea. I just haven't worked on it. In whatever hobby I partake in, I'm always good at starting but never good at finishing.

Sounds a lot like me, Madhatter, with the 'good at starting but bad at finishing' thing. Although my current time-consumer is a story that's now into the 11th chapter. It also helps that I've already written certain sections of the 5 remaining chapters in the story. I may actually finish something I start!

However, at the moment, my hobbies include studying, doing research, highlighting long sections of text, taking notes, juggling bags and books to and from school, reciting from cue cards, as well as working on weekends. I am so glad that there are only eight more weeks in my high-schooling life.

Not finals time *just* yet. Exams start AFTER the eight weeks of school. But I don't mind, because exams are okay.
