SIA, I absolutely loved Oceans' Eleven, but I was somewhat disappointed in Ocean's Twelve. They were all so fantastic in the first one. I was caught off gaurd by how they pulled it off, and that's one of the things that made the movie great! But the second just didn't seem as...umm, I don't know...fresh I guess. That's why I wasn't too excited about Ocean's Thirteen.
I also loved, I mean laughed-until-tears-streamed-down-my-face, had-a-hard-time-breathing, belly-laugh-until-my-stomach-hurt, loved The Whole Nine Yards, but I still haven't even made it through The Whole Ten Yards. Sometimes, I think it's best to leave well enough alone.
(Maybe Ocean's Seventy-fifth will be better....for Pete's Sake!) *ends sarcastic remarks*
Avie pic by me. Elwood: It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. Jake: Hit it. ~ The Blues Brothers (1980)

Sorry SIA but it's just been confirmed that Daniel Radcliffe and the rest are committed to doing all the Harry Potter movies but I'm glad he's keeping his clothes on!
I never did get in to the Oceans 11 etc films. I must be weird but I must be the only woman that doesn't like Brad Pitt, I actually can't see the attraction! I like George Clooney's eyes but that's it and I suppose Matt Damon is a wee bit cute.

Don't worry, Ruais. I'm not much of a Brad Pitt fan either, or of anyone who has to rely so heavily on their looks rather than on their acting ability. That's actually a major turn off for me (this is why I was never an Orlando Bloom fan.)
I'll probably watch many of those sequels at some point or another, but there are none that I'm dying to see. I'm just not much a sequel person, I suppose. They rarely measure up to the original (especially if there are multiple sequels), and I hate to see something good go bad because someone thought he or she could get some more money out of it.

Sam I am. wrote:You do realize that Harry Potter is fully clothed in this movie right? YES! Gah! *sigh* ![Stick out tongue [:P]](/emoticons/emotion-4.gif) As far as I know Harry's either just had or is about to have his first kiss...so unless there are some dark and secret chapters that JKR has waiting in the wings regarding Harry....OF COURSE Harry Potter is going to be fully clothed!!! Besides, I didn't see "Harry Potter naked." I saw DANIEL RADCLIFFE in Equus, and YES, there is a difference!!!! (PS Congratulations ![Big Smile [:D]](/emoticons/emotion-2.gif) I feel like a wet hen all puffed up!)
Sam I am. wrote:And I really hope they get rid of Daniel Radcliffe in the next Harry Potter---along with Emma Watson and what’s his face. They are simply getting too old. In the first Harry Potter the children were so young that I could understand why they were so afraid all the time. But now it’s like, “Dude, why are you running away, you’re bigger than Voldermort now.”
Sorry, kiddo, no can do! In the first one, they were so young, and now they're coming of age! (What? People had actual WEBSITES counting down the exact second until Mary-Kate and Ashley turned 18...I'm not THAT obsessed or stalkerish!) And *ahem* Voldemort is EVIL! Very evil. (dare I say it?) More evil than me! Alright, alright, I'm done defending them to you. I just realized that I played right into your hands.....dirty, rotten trick
Sam I am. wrote:But why does everyone like Shrek. Super cute? How about super lame?
Ouch! I'm sorry you didn't like Shrek! I thought it was great! It had just the right amount of cartoony-ness to appeal to children and yet nuances and "teenage" humor to entertain adults! (I didn't want to say "adult" humor because then we all think vulgar thoughts....and Shrek really isn't vulgar)
Upcoming movies: Wow, reading this thread has made me realize how 'behind' I am on movies! But it's the Century of Trilogies, it seems like!

Brad Pitt is not nearly as handsome as he was ten years ago (as he was in Legends of the Fall). But I like his face, (especially with a neatly trimmed beard); it is quite imperfect (despite what others may think) and very interesting to watch on screen. He’s not a pretty boy anymore (like Orlando Bloom), but IMO no one looks better than him when they are beaten up and bloody (just watch Fight Club). [Note to self: Add Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt from Fight Club) to my "people I admire (or think are cool)" list].
I really want to watch his new movie The Assassination of Jesse James.
BTW, I like girls.

Haha the funny thing is that teenage humor is more often the vulgar humor and adult humor is stupid corny jokes!!
Did anyone see Pan's Labyrinth? I saw a preview for it while watching Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny. It looked absolutely amazing. Anyone ever see Labyrinth with David Bowie? Hah..that was a good laugh.
Speaking of upcoming.. Blades of Glory just came out and it looks HILARIOUS! Also Meet the Robinsons -- I love the clip they show of the tyranosaurus rex saying "I have a big head! And little arms!" I immitate it all of the time to my beau! Teehee.

Hubby and I saw Pan's Labyrinth , which was a very good movie, but very dark and graphic. I wouldn't recommend it for younger kids. I also saw its director, Alfonso Cuaron's, Children of Men upon the suggestion of Sam I am, and found that to be a very dark movie as well. You really have to be paying attention to what is going on. I reminded me a lot of George Orwell's 1984 ..
Blades of Glory was a lot of fun, we did that one with the whole family.

Dang Krinsel! You seem to be very on top of the movie scene!
And don't worry... I don't have any kids to bring to the movies anyway! ![Angel [A]](/emoticons/emotion-13.gif)

OH NO… Shia Labeouf has just been confirmed for Indy 4. I like Shia, I’m probably the only one here who has seen (and liked) every episode of Disney’s Even Stevens, but this is Indiana Jones that we’re talking about. Please don’t tell me he is going to be a sidekick (like Short Round or Sean Connery).
I think George Lucas has achieved “hopeless” status in my mind. First he tried to insert prequel suckage into the original trilogy by putting the Christian Haydon Anakin in the final scene of the Return of the Jedi DVD. Hmmm… but he did get rid of the Ewoks doing the “hayyp dance” at the end though. Perhaps he is not beyond hope after all.
I must believe in Steven Speilberg.

Aww, come on, SIA. He's a good actor! I loved him in that movies Holes, and I am 99% sure that I just saw him in a preview for a movie about a person who is on house arrest and witnesses some terrible crimes, or something. The name of the movie completely escapes me, so someone please post it.
Anyway, as I was looking at the trailer for it on TV, thinking "This will be one I skip; looks too scary", I saw this guy (I think) and I said to my husband that I thought it was that kid from Even Stevens. He, of course, had no clue what I was talking about. ![Wink [;)]](/emoticons/emotion-5.gif)

I think the movie you are talking about is Disturbia, Val. The only reason why I know that is because it is being compared to Rear Window, which is one of my mother's favorite movies.
