The Cauldron

Hi, I'm a new member as you can probably tell! The Symphony of Ages series is possibly my favourite series to date, and that's saying something considering I love to read anything Fantasy and Science Fiction. I've read Rhapsody, Prophecy and Destiny, and as soon as I get my hands on the other ones, I'll be devouring them as well! =] Well... after I finish reading Ilium by Dan Simmons. And I'm planning on reading the Dune series soon as well. Oh, and re-reading the Wheel of Time series before the last one comes out!

Right, what's there to know about me? I live in Finland, moved 'round all my life though so English is my first language. I love reading, writing, thinking, mythology, astrology.. I've lately been crazily infatuated with wargaming and swords... I also romanticize everything.

Right, I'm so glad I found this forum! The Rhapsody dork inside me has a fiendish gleam in her eyes.

I consider myself the "little member," of The Cauldron, although I may not be the youngest anymore. Don't mind me, I tend to say random things. Symphony of Ages is my favorite series as well! I tried reading Dune and had to put it down, I suggest that if you want to ever try another Sci-Fi book, there is C.J.Cherryh who writes awesome science fiction novels. The only one I read of hers though is The Faded Sun trilogy, which includes Kesrith, Shon'jir, and Kutath.

Amusingly enough I read the cauldron member hobbies thread first, saw your comment about the Flogging Molly concert, and immediately thought "s/he has to be Finnish."

I suppose it is because the only reference I have ever heard to actually going to a Flogging Molly concert was from a girl living in Finland. Also, it seems to be very typical music to like over there from my prejudiced opinion!

And, Silhelmina, you'd be suprised at the major metal music culture Finland has. O.o That is what a lot of people listen to here! I guess it makes sense with the whole Viking history in Scandinavia; we are awesomely brutal here. ;]

I welcome you as both a SOA fan and a Flogging Molly fan. (I went to there concert last time they were in the states, it was the most fun I have had at a concert.)

Yes, Flogging Molly has probably the best live shows ever. O.o It was utterly crazy, and Dave King is basicaly a god. I almost went to see them two days in a row but, turned out, all the tickets were sold out for the second show!

And Scandinavia is actually suprisingly good at music. So cheers to that, Noonaa. =D
