    Okay, here it is:

"Achmed had long despised cards and other games of chance.
Part of the reason might have been that long ago, in the old world, that other life, his true name had been won in a game of cards from the Bolg of Serendair and given by the winner, under duress, to the demon that was his enemy.
Part of the reason might have also been that his Dhracian mother was selected for capture by the Bolg with a toss of the bones.
But whatever the reason, what he detested most about gamesplaying was the uncertainty of it."

Requiem for the Star, US hardcover, pg. 235, chapter 20.

Okay, so I wasn't completely wrong--there was a game of chance in which his name was the prize. Just not the way I thought it was. I kinda knew I was wrong, though. I was just waiting for somebody to correct me Smile [:)]

Mri Niun: I'll try and find some more info on Grunthor in the books but I remember from the top of my head that I don't think you mention that he's a Kinsman, or one of the Three. The only things I can think of without looking through the books is that you might also mention that he made the journey through the Root and is half Bolg/Bengard. But I do see your point. Aside from The Awful Incident Involving Grunthor's Troops, the Pleasure Palace is the only other reference to any of his history.

Last thing: perhaps mention that some individuals, like Jo and Rhur, are deceased and the circumstance of their death. Other than that, the Dictionary of all SoA knowledge has a flawless victory (IMO, anyways).

Edit: Random point of interest: I have the exact 100th reply! Yay me.

That's interesting (seeing that most of the post were made by me, anyway, from updates on the Dictionary) but I guess it is something to be proud of! Thank you for pointing that out! Stick out tongue [:P]

I will edit the Dictionary when I can, (such as Jo/Rhur being decreased and mentioned that Grunthor is a Kinsmen/Three if it isn't mention in there already) but Mri Niun has been a bit busy with homework.

I edited some of the things mentioned above, but I don't remmember how Rhur died. Anybody know how he/she died? Hmm [^o)]

Rhur was with Shaene when the incomplete Lightcatcher exploded, after they placed Omet under it for healing. Shaene and Rhur were both killed.

AEsahaettr, is it okay if I use that exact quote (Rhur/Shaene) of yours for the Dictionary?

OMG.  You did it Mri Niun; you did the impossible!  You did something that no Cauldron member has ever done before (to my knowledge anyways, lol)…  You have made an SoA thread that got pinned!

You have succeeded where the *cough* great *cough* (lol) SIA had failed.  Whereas SIA’s little Cauldron Legacy Immortality Machine (otherwise known as the “Ultimate Collection of SIA’s SoA threads,” lol) was shot down (very gently I might add), Mri Niun’s “The Dictionary of All SoA Knowledge” has flown so high that even an arrow shot upon the highest mountaintop could never dare to reach it. (lol)

And with every new SoA term added to its vast database another feather grew upon the soaring wings of this epic thread, and with every new reply came the winds of glorious activity, and together…  before we knew it; a little lark chirping at the edge of its nest transformed into a golden eagle who dared such forum heights that mortal eyes had to squint upon the heavens just to catch a glimpse of its posting greatness. (lol)

*SIA gives Mri Niun a (ten minute) standing ovation (actually, was more like 10 seconds, lol)*

Fly little butterfly…  Fly.  Look at the butterfly…  flying so high.

A thousand years from now when the aliens finally come and visit a desolate Planet Earth they will find 3 things awaiting them to judge all of humanity by:  a frozen Haley Joel Osment, a vindicated Tom Cruise, and The Dictionary of All Symphony of Ages Knowledge.  LOL.  And though the first two shall give them pause; the latter will be definitive proof…  that in the most unlikely of places…  for no greater glory or fame…  and for no reason in particular (lol)…  that humans were capable of such unique unintended greatness…  even when greatness of any kind was not called for.  LOL.  *just joking*

    Look at the butterfly…

It was as if you were trapped behind a giant plexi-glass wall and saw the dreaded 2-month inactive filter coming to claim your SoA thread and instead of just giving up and accepting fate; you clutched a grenade (that you conveniently had stowed away in a random drawer, lol) in your trembling hand, pulled the pin, and rushed headlong in to glorious fiery death of hero and flame.  LOL.

In 2008 a deadly plague of misspelled and often forgotten SoA terminology swept across the forum message boards known as The Cauldron.

On April 14, 2008 at approximately 8:24 p.m. Mri Niun created The Dictionary of All Symphony of Ages Knowledge.  And in the following months and weeks sacrificed her life to defend it (from inactivity, lol).

We (and all or replies to it) are her legacy.

    This (thread) is her legend.

    Mri Niun.  You are legend.

Light (of SoA knowledge) of the darkness.

*Bob Marley’s Redemption Song starts to play*  LOL.

Wow, after reading all that I never felt so much gratitude in my life. I couldn't had imagined that my Dictionary (which I'm sure with all its faults and errors and efforts) that I worked on with puny definitions I grabbed from the books could achieve such... soaring butterfly heights! LOL.

Thanks. That made my day! Big Smile [:D]

P.S: Although the Dictionary still needs more work, it was/is an awesome achievement. And even though many things can be improved upon, I'm glad that I made some people's lives a little bit easier, no matter how small.

LOL.  And just how high can a little butterfly fly you ask?  11, 000 feet.  Yup, glider pilots have reported seeing Monarchs flying as high as eleven thousand feet.  (thanks Google, lol)  Amazing isn’t it?  A little butterfly soaring heights than even the greatest of eagles dare not dream.  But they cannot get there on their own; they ride the winds you see…  just like this thread!  LOL.

Ride the wind little butterfly…  ride the wind…  the heavens await.  *whispers*  Can you tell SIA loves metaphors; most especially ones that barely make any sense.  ROFL.

IMO it doesn’t even matter if a single person uses this dictionary or not.  I mean why did mankind go to the moon?  It is like Robert Browning’s famous quote, “A man’s reach should exceed his grasp, or what’s a heaven for?”

Every time someone reaches for greatness (however insignificant, lol), he reaches for the divine…  and in turn reaches for the glory within himself.  *whispers*  Can you tell SIA also loves being SUPER DRAMATIC; even when while doing so he barely makes any sense.  ROFL.

And you are just lucky that I watched I Am Legend again recently because if I hadn’t, SIA would have done the whole “Mri Niun with her SoA Dictionary is comparable to Frodo carrying the ring to the Gates of Mordor” thing.  LOL.  And much like the burden of the ring bearer; the burden of maintaining this thread would have grown with each passing day, and how jealous little Golemn (SIA, lol) would always be there one step behind trying to steal its precious glory all for his own.  LOL.  *just joking*

The best way to remember who you are and where you came from...  is to walk in a circle.  LOL.  See...  that almost makes sense; it is harder than it looks you know...  to barely make sense all of the time.  LOL.

Ahhh…  be careful what you wish for young Noonaakin Skywalker…  be careful what you wish for.  ROFL.

Besides, you think all SIA knows about is Star Wars?  *pouts*  Well I know other stuff too!  Yah, yah, did you know that unlike humans, cats can sit on top of their paws without their paws getting numb?  Yup.  That’s pretty much the extent of what SIA’s knows…  that random fact and Star Wars.  Haha.

    But back to this thread...

Hmmm…  I was thinking, as awesome as this thread is perhaps we should change the name of it, because honestly, “The Dictionary of All Symphony of Ages Knowledge” doesn’t roll off the tongue very well.  Seriously, try saying that five times fast---IMPOSSIBLE.  LOL.  (SIA tried, he almost had an aneurism, lol)

Yes, I was thinking we could call it something more simple, and at the same time call it something that explains exactly what it is.  Hmmm…  I don’t know…  perhaps something along the lines of…  "Simple Instructional Appendix and Supplemental Guide to the Rhapsody Books."

And then you know, for short we could just ALWAYS refer to this thread by its acronym.  Which in this case would be S.I.A.'S. Guide to The Rhapsody Books.  LOL.  *just joking*
