Nope, I never did get around to seeing it, but it's out on dvd now so I'll probably catch it in the next few months. It got such bad reviews I thought I'd wait until I could see it for free. Big Smile [:D] Did you seeit?

Oh, I booked seats for Batman this weekend, I'm looking forward to more Christian Bale screentime. Smile [:)]

I saw a preview for the new Terminator movie during Batman, and that's going to have Christian Bale, too. I don't want to wait a whole year for it!

Well I definitely was putting off seeing The Other Boleyn Girl, but one night I was in Hastings and it was the only thing that I was remotely interested in seeing at that time (I always have a hard time thinking of good movie on the spot) but got the movie and was very pleasantly surprised! I am not sure if you would feel the same but it was actually a very decent movie. I liked the way it was put together and the acting. In fact it was that movie that inspired my bf and I to watch Elizabeth and Elizabeth The Golden Age.( Just thought I give you a good review amongst the bad.)

I wanted badly to see the Terminator preview but saw The Dark Knight in IMAX so only had a crazy Harry Potter teaser and The Watchmen preview. I can't wait for The new Terminator to come out either!

A pleasant surprise on the Independent Film Network today was a Brit import called Millions.  A very touching movie, and definitely recommended if you need a melancholic pick me up - sort of in the same vein of It's a Wonderful Life. Wink [;)]

    Re: Movie/DVD recommendations!

Taken starring Liam Neeson has been receiving poor reviews here in Ireland but I went along for a nose anyway last week. I really liked it, Liam Neeson was like an older version of Jason Bourne, fight scenes were brutal and brilliant and the plot was one that is heard of all too often here. It was so disturbing, so upsetting and so real. If anyone has seen it, the part at the building site had me in tears - it's hauntingly close to reality and this situation is happening to thousands of innocents right now as I type. The next day I actually gave a donation to a local charity that works to rehabilitate trafficked women here. I think it's great that a movie can highlight such a drastic problem and move someone enough to donate.

This is a really good site that highlights the global impact of sex trafficking.

    Re: Movie/DVD recommendations!

I watched Australia last weekend. It was actually pretty decent; there were funny moments, wonderful scenery and it was made in the vein of those great epic romances of yesteryear. The cast did a good job; I wouldn't say any of the actors performances were Oscar worthy; it wasn't that sort of film. It was highly watchable though and gave a little historical insight into how WWll affected Australia. The only thing that niggled me was Nicole Kidman's English accent which was camp and plummy; much like the one she had in Moulin Rouge.

The weekend before I watched Quantum of Solace. Although never a fan of the Bond franchise; this was really entertaining edge of your seat stuff. Basically Bond goes to the dark side and much carnage ensues as he tries to deal with his need for revenge and uncovering the baddies who are, just for a change, trying to kill him. Despite the thrills and spills there is a nice amount of dry humour threaded through it and Judy Dench makes for a great M.
