Re: Wrath of the Lich King

They do look cheap. Some people with older toons, pre-BC, will probably be very happy to get a new 'do. Reckon we'll be seeing a Night Elf Mohawk... Wink [;)]

I've read a bit more about the Pallies - apparently the new expansion will be a major change in play style for them; should be interesting. They are the most annoying class to destroy in pvp, it takes forever to get them down with all the bubbles and healing, viper sting and scatter shot do help though. Big Smile [:D]

I wonder why the Hunter talent tree hasn't been confirmed - maybe they are finally beefing up the survival build to make it a more viable option. I'm just hoping we don't get built up and then nerfed again which is what happened with BC.

Re: Wrath of the Lich King

Well, maybe not a Holy pally! lol

Protection and Retribution pallies are really tough in PvP because they get judgements and seals (Sheild Specialization is a talent ability which almost makes the sheild a weapon) that can be devastating one on one, delivering out all sorts of damage with considerably lesser mana stores and not usually healing others.  I was in an upper level instance (on Krinsel) with a Retrib pally who had less than 2000 mana and expected me to keep him healed, while I was delivering and taking damage myself! lol  Guess that is why Holy isn't such a popular talent tree amongst paladins who because they can wear plate, and heal themselves, makes a good class for independently minded players.

Hunters are the bane of my existence as a pally in PvP.  I have very little ranged attack, and which can't be spammed with the cooldowns (I wish pallies could have a bow), so I normally have to go straight for the hunter while getting beaten down by the pet, and taking damage from any of the others that have ranged abilities.

Why do I like playing a holy pally?  I don't know, it just seems to fit my personality...it really mirrors what is expected of a "mom", which I have plenty of RL practice with! lolWink [;)]  Though, I should really roll a mage one of these days and see how far I can take her.Smile [:)]

ETA:  Reading up on it, it looks like even Holies will have to relearn and respec how to play their class.  We still can't cast heals while moving (except purify), and/or freeze spell casting by other classes, (except the one Stun which has a 1 minute cooldown (in my case)).

The Hunter trees are going to take a little more time because they have to balance the three trees of the hunter, and also the new pet trees.  I expect the interplay between the hunter and hunter pet talents is making it a but more complicated than other classes.

I've been watching the Death Knight videos today. WOW! I want one now.  You can see them on MMO-Champion.

Oh, I meant to post yesterday but didn't get around to it. The Pally and Hunter trees can be found at WoWHead here ( you have to enable pop-ups). I'm looking forward to those pet talent trees too. Big Smile [:D] The BM top talent suggests they can tame exotic pets - kewl! I wonder if that means things like ghost wolves and those faerie dragons and whatever WOLK brings up.

Re: Wrath of the Lich King

There's something a wee bit wonky with the MM talent tree on that link. The Mortal Shots > Aimed Shot branch isn't correct. You can only put one point in the mortal shots... which doesn't make sense. Unless Blizz are being very mean. Surprise [:O] Anyway, it's fun to fiddle with these for now. Big Smile [:D]

I got my beta key!!!!  Downloading the client right now. 4 hours left on the download. Ugh! I copied Stephenn and Roswynn over and I will make a Death Knight as soon as possible. Blogging it all on my blog. Bedtime for now. I'll patch in the morning I guess.

Re: Wrath of the Lich King

O.o wow, I need to reactivate my account again before the expansion gets here in Nov ><

bah! I'm torn, I like my druid and hunter. But I'll never raid with my hunter on my freaking server, she mostly farms and does pvp. Death Knight looks really cool though, how do you like playing it so far?

Re: Wrath of the Lich King

If the reason you don't raid with your hunter is because noone ever whispers hunters ( my hunter never gets asked - but my mage and shammy get gazillions of invites) then it's probably best not to go with a death knight - as soon there are going to be gazillions of those running around WoW.

I'd go with the druid - they're always popular in raids, esp Ferals that can offtank orTrees that heal.

Re: Wrath of the Lich King

Yeah, I'll probably focus on my druid. She needs better healing gear anyway, I'm still in blues while the other healers are epic lol yet I'm number one on the healing chart.

Re: Wrath of the Lich King

Oh yes. I've seen the new Sylvanas too. I'm loving the Death Knights.  They are really over powered right now though. I'm sure they'll be nerfed before release.  I have 3 DK's so far. LOL
