    A really good find...

I went to Books-A-Million the other day and found two of the Symphony of Ages books (Rhapsody and Elegy for a Lost Star) in hardcover for only 4 to 5 bucks! And they were in excellent conditions, just like new! It was in the Sci-Fi bargain section, so I'm going to keep my eyes peeled on that section of the bookstore to see if any of the other books pop-up, I shall that they had Requiem for the Sun in hardcover for a very low price a while ago, but I didn't buy it than because I felt I didn't need to, now it disappeared replaced by the book Rhapsody, so I may have to order it off of Amazon.com or ask the bookstore to order it in and pay full price, so I can get it in hardcover too.

So I'm going to try to collect the SOA series in hardcover, since I got The Assassin King in hardcover anyway.

So what do you all think? Did anybody else see anything like this? Big Smile [:D]

I'm trying to collect them all in hardback too, I remember waiting for ages for Destiny and Requiem to come out in paperback, but then it got to Elegy and I just decided to spend the extra money. TAK isn't out here yet, and a couple of days ago I got so irritated by not having it I ordered the US version on amazon (it should be here soon Big Smile [:D]) but as soon as it comes out in hardback over here I'm going to buy it.

    Re: A really good find...

I have all the books in hardcover from the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Club. It's a smaller size hardcover. I want to replace my copies of the first three. Because I read them so much, they are a little the worst for wear. I wanted to steal my brother's copies (he was the same editions) but of course, he wouldn't let me. I think he's mad at me for claiming dibs on my mom's copy of the Illustrated Dune.
If you find them all in hardcover, you should definitely buy them. Paperbacks aren't as durable, but in my case neither are hardcovers. Smile [:)]

Well, I just recently ordered Requiem for the Sun in hardcover for only 7.99 in hardcover, brand new for Bargain Price! Can't wait to add it to my collection of SOA hardcovers! Big Smile [:D]

    Re: A really good find...

Awaiting my (Used, Like New) hardcover Destiny, Child of the Sky copy from Amazon.com. Got a good deal on it too, only 3.99 (which totals to 7.00), I save 18.95! So all I' m missing so far is Prophecy in hardcover, I think ill just wait to get Dragon's Lair and than keep my eyes open on that Bargain section in Books-A-Million or Barns. I gave all my paperbacks to my younger brother so some day he can read them too! Big Smile [:D]

    Re: A really good find...

    I know, aren't they? Big Smile [:D]

Anyway, I just got a messege that the person who had recieved my Destiny hardcover book by mistake is sending it back to the person who originaly sent it to me. So once she recieves it back, she will send it to me! Yeah! Can't wait (once again) to recieve my Destiny book in hardcover! Stick out tongue [:P]

Now I just need to find a good deal on Prophecy in hardcover, and my collection of the SOA series in hardcovers will be complete! I wish I could get Elizabeth Haydon to sign one of my books, maybe when the new book comes out she will let us know if she is going on a "Book Signing," tour, and might come to Florida. Wink [;)]

I wouldn't count on it, MN. That site hasn't been updated in a long time. It still says that Elegy for the Lost Star is coming soon .

Tyeah, good point madhatter. Well... I just hope that someday, perhaps, I'm walking in the bookstore with my Rhapsody book tucked underneath my arm and Haydon just happens to be sitting at a table in the back, signing books. Wink [;)]

    *Sighs*

Wouldn't that certainly be the day? Stick out tongue [:P]

Yes, yes it would. (except that I would be carrying one of the Ven Polypheme books instead, having not read them yet. Or maybe the new SOA book when it comes out?) That would make me very happy Smile [:)]

I'll just be happy when the next book is out; then, I can worry about whether or not she's having a book tour.

Of course madhatter. I suspect that we will hear about the next book ether near September or October, perhaps the book will come out in November like it did for TAK? I hope so, since Haydon did say that the next book will come out a lot faster than TAK did. TAK was delayed for three years before its release. I'm just saying that it would be nice to get some books signed and even (like eternal light mentioned) the newiest installment of the WOTKW book signed as well. Rhapsody is, thus far, my favorite book of the series, so I would probably want that signed along with getting the new SOA book signed as well. Stick out tongue [:P]

Me too! Along with Destiny and The Assassin King. ^.^

Shouldn't there be some sort of notice around now if it comes out in September/October?

    Re: A really good find...

There should be a notice, I guess eternal light. IDK, I hope that Elizabeth Haydon will pop-up sometime and give us a heads-up on the next book like she did for TAK, but she might be far too busy now...

My second favorite book of the series is Requiem for the Sun. The Assassin King was enjoyable, but it seemed to be missing something and it was a bit rushed. But than again, its a book setting-up for the next release in the series, so I don't blame it. Big Smile [:D]

    Re: A really good find...

*raises eyebrow* Should we make a topic on which book was each person's favorite/why or would that be insanely boring?

(also, I loved Requiem for the Sun too Smile [:)] Especially with...*tries not to make spoilers* cliffs. And caves.)

Hmm....I keep confusing TAK with Elegy, or basically lumping them together, because I read them right after each other. This was not the case for Prophecy and Requiem for the Sub, where I had a couple months (almost a year, really) apart from each book because the 4th was not in my most local library...I did the same thing with Prophecy/Destiny. Heh.

Yes, I definitely get them confused a lot too eternal light, I started Rhapsody about 6 years ago and have read all the others in between then and now. College was the main reason I never had time for fun reading.

I would be interested in seeing which was everyone's favorite too.
