    What Firstborn Race are you?

(Everyone who thinks I need to get a life, raise your hand!  haha j/k  No, put your hands down.  Hey, come on now, put 'em down!  It's not funny anymore!  *sigh*  Oh, just go take the quiz!)

    What Firstborn Race are you?

Keep track of how many times you answer 1, how many times you answer 2, and so on.  These are probably pretty easy to guess because we've all read the books a million times, but hopefully it'll be fun too! I tried...and if anyone has any suggestions/changes, I'm all ears!

Q:  What would you rather look like?
      1. Tall and golden-skinned
      2. I like to change my appearance regularly
      3. Dark, muscular, and very aware of what’s going on around me
      4. I’d rather be a mermaid or merman
      5. See-through and at one with the elements with wings as fashion accessories
    Q:  I would rather…
      1. Star gaze
      2. Play with fire
      3. Hunt something
      4. Swim
      5. Hoard treasure
    Q:  What’s your favorite game?
      1. Name That Constellation
      2. Hide and Seek
      3. Telephone
      4. Marco Polo
      5. Treasure Hunt
Q:  Where would you rather live?
      1. Sepulvarta
      2. Bethany
      3. Bethe Corbair
      4. Avonderre
      5. Sorbold
Q:  How do you feel about Rhapsody?
      1. I’d claim her as my descendent
      2. I want her power
      3. Good Singer!
      4. She knows how to navigate
      5. Pretty!
Q:  What is your greatest fear?
      1. That the humans will kill us all with their dumb wars
      2. Diamonds (and Dhracians)
      3. That the Vault will rupture again…
      4. That we’ll have to actually interact with everyone again
      5. Ending
Q:  Who is your favorite younger race?
      1. Lirin
      2. Ugh, who likes anyone else?
      3. Dhracians (or maybe Bengard)
      4. Humans
      5. Firbolg (or the Earth Children)
Q:  How do you feel about children?
      1. We don’t like it when a Sleeping Child causes destruction
      2. We like to wake them up!
      3. We want the youngest (and eldest) to stay asleep
      4. Children?  Who cares about children?
      5. We created our own once, and then they got destroyed except for one
Q:  What sword do you prefer?
      1. Daystar Clarion
      2. Well, we like both Daystar Clarion and Tysterisk
      3. Tysterisk, hands down
      4. Kirsdarke!
      5. Who needs a sword when you can breathe fire?

Okay, now add up how many times you answered each number, and read on to find out which Firstborn Race you are!  Then post to let us know who you are (or if you're a combination of two!)

If you answered mostly 1’s you are Seren:  Tall and golden-skinned, you are the Firstborn of all the races!  You were born on Serendair, and you didn’t like the fact that the second born Sleeping Child took your island.  You are tied to the stars (ether) which is why you would prefer to stay at Lianta’ar, the Citadel of the Star (in Sepulvarta).  You are most well-known as the ancestors of the Lirin.  During the Racial Wars on Serendair, you chose to go underground rather than participate, and even though you are magically more powerful than the humans, they have more numbers, and you really don’t want them to come after you.  You also have an amazing talent for annoying a particular half-Dhracian, half-Firbolg king…..

If you answered mostly 2’s you are F’dor:  You’re not evil!  You just prefer anarchy and chaos to organized government, and you can’t make up your mind about the way you look, so you try to figure it out by ‘trying on’ different hosts!  What’s the harm in that, right?  You like to play Hide and Seek with the Dhracians, but you don’t really like it when they find you!  You also don’t care much for diamonds.  You are tied to the element of fire, and you want to be close to Vrackna in Bethany (although Bethe Corbair, where the Wind basilica is, isn’t a bad second choice…) you are attracted to powerful people, and you like both elemental swords Daystar Clarion and Tysterisk.  You like Daystar Clarion because it used to be two swords (fire and ether swords) that were combined into one.  You like Tysterisk because your most powerful buddy wielded it for a while.  You’re not a thief; you just borrowed the Progenitor Wyrm’s egg, and you’ll give it back…when the time is right, of course!

If you answered mostly 3’s you are Kith:  Being a Child of the Wind, you are extremely sensitive to all life vibrations.  You don’t show much emotion, and you can be rather harsh sometimes, but you’re there when it really counts.  Your favorite descendents are the Lirin and the Dhracians, but you have to love your quirky Bengard cousins too!  When the Firstborn races formed an alliance against the F’dor, you sacrificed everything about your element to help.  You like to hear the wind in the bell tower of Ryles Cedelian in Bethe Corbair, You like to hunt, and “Ready or not, here I come!” is your favorite phrase to use when playing with the F’dor.  You appreciate Rhapsody’s singing because it sounds nice on the wind.  Your greatest fear is that the Vault will rupture again, and you prefer children to be sleeping as opposed to being awake.

If you answered mostly 4’s you are Mythlin:  Who cares what the temperature is?  You’re always up for a dip in the water and a rousing game of Marco Polo!  That’s the element you are tied to naturally, which is why you like Abbat Mythlinis in Avonderre and Kirsdarke.  (You did snicker, though, when its bearer fell flat on his face in the Tar’afel.)  For not being tied to water, you were pretty impressed with Rhapsody when she used her music to navigate that flowing river.  Your descendents, humans, have pretty much taken over the land on the world, which is why you prefer to stay at the bottom of the sea, being a mermaid or merman.  You guard the Ocean-Father’s Vaults very carefully, and you felt very bad for MacQuieth when he lost his son Hector in the cataclysm.  You also know where one of the openings to the Vault is, but you’re not about to tell anyone!

If you answered mostly 5’s you are a dragon:  In your tongue, you are a wyrm, and as such, you prefer to stay ethereal and vaporous.  You don’t rampage (often), but you do have a tendency to hoard your treasure and guard it jealously.  Your greatest fear is Ending, but you have such a Pretty soul.  You are tied to the earth as your element, even though Terreanfor is in Sorbold.  You aren’t intimidated by swords or the Firbolg king; after all, you can breathe fire.  Even though it happened a long time ago, you are still saddened by the loss of your Children of Living Stone.  You value your progeny above all, and you’re amused by your Wind of the Earth descendents, the Firbolg.  You like treasure hunts, too…hey, look, something shiny!

Re: What Firstborn Race are you?

Ah man, this bites.  According to that test I’m most like F’dor.  I don’t want to be  F’dor.  I want to be a dragon; dragons are cool.  Unless an F’dor can use a dragon as a host somehow---then I’m cool with being F’dor.

Well, Anwyn...except that she wasn't exactly F'dor in human form or when she was a dragon...but I think that's the closest you're gonna get!

Re: What Firstborn Race are you?

Well, as to be expected, I am mostly Dragon. Five out 9 of my answers were #5. However, I also got two #4's. So I am a Dragon with Mythlin tendencies, I guess.

I really did love Treasure/Scavenger hunts as a kid too. (Okay, I still do but don't tell anyone.)

I have sort of a fiery personality, which is why I changed my name to Valecynos as soon as the TAK excerpt was posted. I was kind of afraid I'd get F'dor too.

I'm a cross between a Dragon and a Seren. Wouldn't that make an interesting baby. Basically I would be a golden dragon. Lol.

Re: What Firstborn Race are you?

I got Seren, which is pretty cool, if a bit disconnected. But I also got two twos and two threes, so I guess I'm goldenly ethereal, windproof, and randomly burst into flame. Who could ask for more? Plus, awesome swords!

Okay, so am I hearing that the answers for "F'dor" were just too cool to pass up and the answers for the other races not so cool?  Wink [;)]

I'm glad you guys liked it.  The idea just came to me randomly, and I decided to sit down and work on it.  If you have any suggestions for better, different answers, please let me know!

Re: What Firstborn Race are you?

I apparently have a F’dor grandfather, a Dragon grandmother, a Kith grandfather, and a Mithlin grandmother with some Seren blood way back in my family tree.  Two points for each of the grandparents and only one for the Seren ancestor.

7 out of 9 answers were Seren for me, with the other two being Kith. Woo!

I got a jumble of all five, but I am mostly a Kith, which kind of does remind me of me.

hahahahaha!  Alright, I have a confession then:  I'm scared of fire.  Huh? [:^)]  Yeah, that's right.  Matches, lighters, fireplaces, candles...they all make me nervous.  I guess I must not be a *real* girl then, because I hate candles and jewelry (the two standard back up presents for when guys can't think of ANYTHING else...haha)

Anyway, alright, so I'm hearing that the F'dor answers were temptingly unfair...and you're probably right.  Wink [;)]  Evil is SUPPOSED to be tempting, remember?  It's not *my* fault y'all don't say no...Big Smile [:D]

Re: What Firstborn Race are you?

I say no to lots of evil! I'm very responsible when I play with fire!  And come on, Rhapsody was fire element and she's not evil...  And how could you cook without fire?  Fire is warm and loving too ya know!  Just because the firstborn race of fire was evil doesn't mean they ruined fire for all of us!  It's still 1/5 of the world or more!

    I'm done now.. c.c

The microwave.  Wink [;)]  And I don't "cook"...I "nuke"...(alright, sorry, I have to throw my head back and laugh shamelessly at my own joke...not something I do often but HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

Okay, sorry, back to task.  I just realized that I DO love a good bonfire...from a distance (good memories there) and a small campfire, while it makes me anxious, is great for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows (GOD, I LOVE S'MORES), so the love of food overrides the fear of fire...for that.

I do like fire in the fireplace, especially when it's snowing outside, and you have a cup of hot chocolate, and you can curl up with a good book or the person you love...

Except if it's a REAL fire.  Then it just makes me nervous, and I can't relax because I'm anxious and apprehensive that a spark will somehow jump out of the fireplace, onto the carpet, and burn up the house or that somehow the chimney will get blocked, and the carbon monoxide will seep into the house and kill us all without us even realizing it (since carbon monoxide has no taste or odor or anything...)  <-----  clear indication of too much CSI for AL...

I finally got to the point (at my mom's house in the US) that I could "turn the fireplace on" (fake fireplace with a switch...just like a light...on and off) without wincing.  But I just don't do the "candle" thing...*shrug*

Re: What Firstborn Race are you?

Heh.. If I could light my house with all fire, I probably would...Candles and a fireplace makes everything so pretty.  I remember back in Boy Scouts, whenever I got fire duty I was so happy and sat so close to it the Scoutmasters kept telling me to sit back.  I would constantly adjust the firewood to keep the flame going strong... and it looked so pretty ^^()  But yeah... candles are awesome, especially now that you can get any scent you can think of put into a candle c.c and a real fire is so much better than a fake fire.  I could sleep next to one comfortably every night.

And of course, S'mores are teh awesomes!  (Sorry Tinkerbolg, this misspelling was done on purpose.)

Re: What Firstborn Race are you?

Fire is okay, from a distance. I like fireplaces, I sometimes burn candles, campfires are nice, and bonfires are even better, but I lived through 2 house fires as a kid. So that sort of gives me a different perspective. Electricity makes me really, really nervous. I mean, I know it's fine when everything is working properly, and when repairs are made by people who know what they're doing, etc, but it makes me nervous just the same.

Also means that "stuff" doesn't mean as much to me, even though I do like my toys.
